A VELIA delegation lead by its Chairman, Mr. Hikmat Nasser visited the general headquarters of the Belgian UNIFIL contingent in the South of Lebanon.

Base Commander Colonel Hendrik Van Sluys underlined the very good relations between his troops and the local population as well as enlightened the delegation with detailed explanations about the main functions of the base.

At the end of the visit Mr. Hikmat Nasser offered a VELIA plaque to Colonel Van Sluys to thank him and his troops for their admirable work; and in return the base Commander handed over a medal to Mr. Nasser. The whole delegation was then invited for lunch at the canteen of the base.
